Heronary club conducts Bird Watching Activity

On 9th April 2016, Heronary Club of School conducted its Bird Watching Activity for the students of class VII & VIII. The students were taken for the nature trail 30 kms, near Katol Road.
The students along with teachers were guided by the team of ‘Birds of Vidarbha’ Mr. Nitin Marathe, Mrs. Prachi Mahurkar, Sanjay Kholia, Vaibhav Lothe, Parag Holkar, Sagar Bahad. They observed colourful, migratory birds like Common Green Shank, white Nake Stork, Cormorant, Little Tern, Kentish Plover, Little Stint were sighted with their nesting.
Shri Pramod Joshi, a resource person of ‘Akash Mitra’ the society for popular Astronomy also guided the students by providing binoculars and gave information about Telescope Making for Astronomy, Bird Watching & Wild Life.
Later on the students visited a farm house of Mrs. Prachi Mahurkar where they observed various agricultural implements and an eco-friendly farm house with biogas plant. Activity using natural material was carried out by the students in the farm house. It was a good learning experience for the students.
